Outback Car Trek launching from Geraldton to raise funds for RFDS
And that's a fun and crazy wrap! Last weekend, the annual Just Cuts Cut-a-Rama was held in Geraldton, WA, to kick off the Outback Car Trek and help raise vital funds for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS).
Just Cuts Stylists created awesome hairstyles for The Outback Car Trek participants and the public at the Murchison Tavern, raising more than $10,000 in just over 4 hours!
Since 1998, our Just Cuts Clients and Stylists have raised over $500,000 for the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia through the annual Cut-a-Rama event and donation boxes in over 190 salons Australia-wide.
Driving a range of older model 2WD vehicles, this year's Trek was the first in WA since 2005.

Just Cuts Founder Denis McFadden completed the Outback Car Trek in the Just Cuts Cutmobile with his wife Jenny and celebrated his 23rd Cut a Rama!
Every year Denis calls on local residents to join in the fun, have their hair styled and support this all-important cause.
"There is always a huge buzz around our Cut a Rama event, and I love seeing everyone get involved in the festivities as we (quite literally) let our hair down and embrace the excitement of the Trek. From Mohawks to moustaches and grandparents to kids, Just Cuts Stylists do it all, every year, raise money for RFDS," said Denis.
"We have over 150 Just Cuts Stylists who live and work in 30 regional salons and communities nationwide. And as a company built by these locally owned and operated businesses, we understand the pressing need to fund the healthcare and emergency services the RFDS provide to keep supporting our communities."
The annual Outback Car Trek raises awareness of the disadvantages regional Australians face in accessing the medical treatments residents of major cities may take for granted and donates the funds raised to the RFDS. Providing 24-hour aeromedical emergency services to country Australia, in many locations, the RFDS is the only provider of health care services, taking the place of 'local' doctors and delivering health care services to families throughout their lives.
"People in these communities can live hours and hours from medical care," added Denis. "The RFDS are the GPs of regional Australia, with a waiting room that spans millions of kilometres."
"The RFDS is a lifesaver as people can call them for anything from falling off a horse or injuring themselves on farm equipment. The RFDS can then provide advice or come and provide assistance."

More about Just Cuts
Just Cuts is an Australian hairdressing franchise that bridges the gap between a barber and a high-end hair salon. With salons in every state of Australia, on the North and South Islands, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, it is the largest hairdressing company in the Southern Hemisphere. Based on a fixed price, no appointment system, Just Cuts offers clients affordable haircuts from fully qualified hairdressers and performs over 100,000 Style Cut cuts per week across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Celebrating 30 years in 2020, Just Cuts was the brainchild of Denis McFadden, who turned a simple idea into a business concept that would change the hairdressing industry forever. McFadden ran his first ever "no appointment, $6 Style Cut" promotion at his humble Sydney salon, receiving an outstanding response from clients. It was on this basic fixed-price initiative that the idea of Just Cuts was born. The inaugural Just Cuts salon opened its door to the public the following year. And in 1990, the first Just Cuts franchise opened in the suburb of Engadine, south of Sydney, New South Wales. Our brand has continued to expand ever since, with over 220 locations across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
In 2013, Just Cuts launched JUSTICE Professional – a range of salon-quality haircare and styling products available exclusively in all our salons at a competitive, affordable price. The JUSTICE Professional line has something for everyone, including everyday shampoos and conditioners, anti-dandruff and dry scalp treatments, toning products, nourishing leave-in treatments and a range of hair styling waxes and sprays.
